Classrooms

Our clean, colourful, well- ventilated and spacious classrooms with a lot of natural light, inspire learning. The positive, motivating, responsive and happy classrooms are where our children feel secure. Teaching takes place in small groups. This enables the teachers to give individual attention to each student and take care of their particular needs. The interactive white boards with access to multimedia content in our physical classrooms makes learning more fun and engaging.

Playground

Education is complete only when it ensures all-round development of an individual. Students are given adequate scope to groom their innate talents in any form of art that they desire. Sports facilities are in place, and games form an integral part of the weekly schedule. A vast playground with provisions for playing outdoor games like cricket, football, badminton, volleyball and basketball are in place. There is a separate lawn tennis court and an exclusive play area with play equipment and sandpit for the tiny tots. The students are given regular and rigorous training in a systematic way by qualified and professional coaches in the game of students’ choice.

The School Library

Libraries are important cornerstones of a healthy community. Our school library provides a flexible space with a wide and inclusive range of resources to support learning and teaching. It plays a vibrant role in the development of a culture that promotes wider reading, motivated readers and learners for life to imbibe reading habits in students and staff members, the school library offers the following:

  • There are approximately 8,000 books in the library with a wide range of latest fiction, poetry, prose, philosophical books, magazines, comics, newspapers, textbooks, audio, and video cassettes, CDs, DVDs and other visual aids await avid learners and readers.
  • Separate seating arrangement for primary and senior students.
  • Regular book reviews presented by students and staff members.
  • Book week is organised every year in which various inter-class competitions are held.
  • To imbibe reading habits in underprivileged children, old books from the library are donated by the school.

Labs

Physics Lab

Well planned, spacious and well-equipped physics lab has all the interesting sets of equipment to reinforce scientific and experimental concepts and facilitate in developing investigative skills. There are models, charts apparatus, kits, and experimental gadgets to cater the needs of students. In the physics lab, students discover the law which governs a certain phenomenon or verify a given law which has been derived from a theory.

Chemistry Lab

The chemistry laboratory is designed while keeping all the statutory norms and safety standards. It is well ventilated as well as spacious. It has some of the most accurate digital measuring instruments required for measuring chemicals. Here, a scientific attitude is developed in the students along with the ability to analyze, collate, compute, integrate and deduce. In the lab, the students learn to handle apparatus and chemicals. They improve their understanding of various chemical reactions and chemical processes. It enables personal verification of important experimental facts. Logic and reasoning skills that develop in this lab will go a long way in ensuring success in later life.

Biology Lab

In the biology lab, the students study detailed structures, morphological, histological and physiological aspects of plants and animals. Study of slides under the microscopes or studying the museum specimens kindles a natural curiosity towards nature and instills a joy of learning the flora & fauna around us. All the equipment and specimens that we have in the lab are open for the school students to be used under careful supervision. This is a place where our students are given a chance to ‘discover’ before they are ‘told’. Children have the liberty to make models and projects by availing lab facilities.

Computer Lab

The school recognises that today’s children are ‘growing up digital’ and that computer literacy is of vital importance in education. Computer education is therefore an integral part of the rising star school curriculum. The school sports two well-equipped ‘wired’ computer labs with current and emerging computer hardware, software and other relevant resources. Such computer lab facilitates in-depth learning. Students are introduced to basic computer components and its uses from class i onwards. From class iii, students are introduced to, and work with, various software programmes.

Maths Lab

A well-equipped maths lab has been set up, conforming to the guidelines and recommendations of the CBSE. Hands on exploration of concrete material leads to greater ’conceptual understanding’ and ‘problem-solving skills’. The primary objectives of the maths lab are:

  • To help dispel fear of mathematics (algebra and geometry) in pupils by making maths learning more meaningful and enjoyable.
  • To make mathematics more pragmatic and life-oriented.
  • To provide study and test-taking skills.
  • To practice interactive maths on the computers.
  • To advance mathematical modelling of reallife problems in order to come up with guided discovery activities and collaborative learning in groups.
  • To provide alternative instruction using a wide range of audio and video resources.

Transportation Policy

The school provides transportation for the convenience and the safety of students. The school operates its own buses on specific routes, depending on the number of students on the route. Though we try our best, it may not always be possible to drop students at their doorstep or to accommodate requests for changes. Once a route has been finalised no changes/diversions will be entertained, and parents are requested to co-operate. If any student is found violating the code of conduct for the bus, the bus facility may be withdrawn. The onus of deciding the gravity of the situation is on the teacher in charge of the bus.

The transportation policies and procedures for parents are given below:

  • Parents are required to pick up the child from the designated stop. In case the parent/guardian/caretaker is not there to receive the child with the i-card, the driver is instructed to bring back the child to the school.
  • In case of a change in route or destination, please inform the school transport authorities in writing to facilitate efficient planning. Please inform us in advance because drivers are not authorized or permitted to take these decisions. Please avoid calling drivers directly as the mobile phones given to them are for emergencies only and they are not permitted to use them while driving.
  • Students will be held responsible for any damage caused to the bus by their negligence or vandalism and fine will be incurred.
